My first advertisement

In the recent issue of Quilting Arts,

200906blog009

I placed my first ad!  It is in the Artists’ Marketplace section.  If you look at the two-page spread below it is on the right hand side of the page, almost in the center: the peach one (using the same basic set-up as my rack card and business card that I purchased to promote my book).  It says Artist, Author, Teacher…. and has my website and blog address, with my book cover and “coming in Fall 2009.”  Now, will anyone see it?  Will anyone follow the links?  Will I get any possible jobs??? Who knows…. anyway, here it is:

Here is a closer look at the ad:

Yes, I had already seen it! I didn’t know this was your first ad, it looks very professional!
I will definitely try to get our quilt guild to have you come down, preferably in the winter so you can get some nice southern sunshine, but I don’t really know how the guild program chairs books people. I’ve recently seen that some long time big names are being cancelled because not enough people are signing up quick enough. They’ve also changed their website and I have no idea how to sign up for classes, so that might be the problem…. any way.. I’m sure you’ll get really busy and lots of teaching gigs! Especially after the book is out!

It caught my eye as well. Great looking ad.

Although I have my copy of The relevant Quilting Arts I hadn’t perused it more than cursorily and missed your ad. Mea culpa! My antenna should work better than that! Anyway, it’s neat looking and I hope it gets LOTS of attention — and action too!

Your ad in Machine Quilting Unlimited worked, because that is what led me to check out your blog and website this morning! The Koi fish caught my eye.

Sarah, I saw it right away when I was reading the magazine. Beautiful ad, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the book.

    Hi Sarah,
I just found your blog and website by checking your link on the NC Quilt Symposium’s listing of tentative teachers for the symposium in Charlotte next year. Since I only live about 50 miles north of Charlotte, I’m hoping that Edge Finishing is one of the classes you decide to teach if you do put this show on your list of places to teach!
