Guess what I saw when I woke up?

This:

Through my glasses

(The photo is shot through my glasses so you can see how blind I am!) I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, so I put on my glasses and saw THIS!

Clear window view

Yes, my dear sister in law arrived from Los Angeles last night.  I don’t know how many years it has been since she has seen snow, so this unexpected arrival (a day before the forecasts) must be just for her and for today, which is St. Nicholas Day AND Camden’s Christmas by the Sea celebration weekend (the kick off to the holiday season).  Here’s the front porch and yard… just a dusting, but still…yipppeeeee!

So of course, I  had to have my morning tea in this:

Deborah’s mug

the mug Deborah Boschert gave to us Frayed Edges in 2005 (There’s a remarkably similar photo on my Dec. 27, 2005 blogpost!).  What a perfect morning!   More soon….

Oh, how I love snow and long for it! We get very little here in north Texas. Seeing it, really makes me want some but fat chance right now. It’s going to be 61 today. I really enjoy the snow pictures though. Keep them coming if you can. I also like the cozy mug Deborah gave you. I have been reading her blog for awhile. I need to introduce myself to her one of these days. I think we live not too far from each other. D~~~

Oh ! I wish I could see that.
We are still in terminal gray here

What little snow we have where I am in Vermont is old — but new stuff is threatened — er, promised, soon! I love it when the snow sticks to trees and bushes, and the ice formed on bushes and trees along streams (the water, still unfrozen, is warmer than the air and vapor rises to freeze on the vegetation) is magical, esp if the sun is shining on it.

The artificial snow that has been developed for ski slopes can’t begin to compete with the real thing!

You refer to this snow fall as a “dusting”! Down here in NC with that much snow, we would have a “Winter Storm Watch” on the television stations and schools and work called off. All of this would mean the grocery stores would have bare shelves in the bread and milk aisles. I love it! We all get to stay home and it’s like a very unexpected vacation. The sad thing is that it’s all over in a day or so, melted and gone. Love your Winter Holiday Cheers from Maine! Thanks for sharing!
