The melting spell is over, and now it is SNOW

Good think I like it, because we have a LOT of it!   Here are two pictures from a snow in late January, and many more from this past week.  Won’t say much…just share the pics!  Here’s the view before I went outside to see how much we got:

The answer:  a LOT!  Even before the street got its final plowing and sanding, the snow reached back up almost to the mailbox:

Then, looking toward the garage:

Here, looking down the street, with lotsa snow (slip slip slide) and ice underneath….

Here's what a mostly unplowed street looks like...snowy!

The sun was hidden behind high thin cloud cover, and just glowed across the landscape…

Amazingly, there was no breeze and for several days the branches were crested with snow:

I love the tracery of the branches, and played a bit with Photoshop.  I think the two tweaked photos would make great  screens for printing…..

More branches and tracery...remember the Medieval cathedrals?

Looks like its time for some snow dyeing! Lucky duck! (well, lemons and lemonade kind of lucky)
Have you seen Beth’s results? They’re stunning

Here in Southern CA I’ll never have snow – but I do have lots of Meyer Lemons right now!

    Enjoy!

Looks just like the snow in Vermont! I guess it’s part of the same storm. Really improves
a landscape that was getting to be very gritty and ugly.

Loved that first photo. A quilt inspiration?

funny, looks just like that here!

    I love the snow, too!

    Especially while it’s snowing.

But… hopefully it will go away again in a timely manner.

That posterized pho-toe would make a kick-ass fabric, n’est-ce pas?

I love the snow, and as usual, I wish we had some! Or a lot of it! We haven’t had much of a winter here in North Texas (insert sad sigh here) but it’s not over yet. Thanks for sharing the wonderful snowy photos. I love, love, love seeing them! D~~~~

Hi, Joyce Maleady forwarded these to me. We e-mailed a while ago and you and your sites inspired me. I took your advise and took more lessons that make a sampler quilt and your were right, finishing a block does give me a sense of accomplished. About your excellent photographs, I vote for the third one. I think that would make a dynamite wall hanging

    Hi Sarah,
You have more snow that we, SW Montana, has. We got our share at Christmas. And we do not have lovely trees as you do. I love your first picture. This will make an ATTIC Windows quilt…for those people who admire winter.

Thanks for sharing and I am glad Joycie sent me your link. Take care kiddo. Who knows when we shall see each other again. Give your mom my love…to you too. Percy
